Our WorksAquasat – AI-Driven Satellite-Based Aqua Pond Classification

Overview

Aquasat, developed by Aquaconnect, leverages AI and satellite remote sensing to classify and analyze shrimp and fish ponds across India. The platform democratizes pond boundaries, differentiates between shrimp and fish ponds, and predicts the days of culture. This enables better demand forecasting for inputs and harvest supply at both micro and macro levels.

Project Role & Contributions

DesignPettai conducted a series of Product-building workshops to help understand stakeholder and business requirements at the outset. These workshops enabled us to distill key product features and strategically plan the MVP in phases.

From there, we worked in tight collaboration with AI engineers and stakeholders , ensuring that product decisions were informed by real-world needs.

This included:

1. Defining Product Features : Prioritizing functionalities that align with industry needs and field agent workflows.

2. Ideation and Prototyping : Refining AI Model Parameters: Conducting weekly alignment sessions with the modeling team to keep them informed on user flows and ensure AI outputs matched practical use cases.

3. Optimizing User Experience: Simplifying complex geospatial data to provide clear, actionable insights.

4. Enhancing Field Agent Workflows: Enabling efficient on-ground decision-making with intuitive interfaces.

Results

The new branding successfully positioned AquaSat as a modern, high-quality brand in the market, increasing customer engagement and improving brand recognition.
